How to use the “Locate a Member” feature
Membership in the NLA signifies a special interest in the field of lipidology and members have access to a wide variety of specialized training, education and information related in the field.
To find by Certification: A person who is certified (has passed a rigorous credentialing and examination process) please search by prescribed credential Diplomate for Lipidologists or CLS for Clinical Lipid Specialist. (Click here for additional information).
You can search by profession: for Medical Doctors (MD) or Doctors of Osteopathy (DO) but also specialized professions such as Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Pharmacists, Dietitians, Exercise Physiologists and other related disciplines. The results will try to capture as many members in your area as possible. The NLA is a multi-disciplinary organization; not every result returned by this feature will be a physician unless you specifically select that option.
You can search by practice focus: Often specific genetic disorders (such as Familial Hypercholesterolemia known as FH) require specialized equipment or therapy approaches such as apheresis. Other examples of those who provide special specialized care may include OBGYN’s or Pediatric issues.
All results returned are active members of the National Lipid Association (NLA) and may not be inclusive of all providers of care for dyslipidemia in your area. Suggested searches in your community could include endocrinologists, cardiologists, or prevention specialists in cardiovascular disease. Please discuss with your doctor regarding all treatment avenues for dyslipidemia care.
