The NLA recently conducted a survey of several thousand patients and physicians on the subject of lipid awareness, and discovered communication gaps and misunderstandings about lipids. You can view a summary of the survey’s findings here in our ‘Beyond Cholesterol’ report. The report includes a tear-off sheet that can help you speak with your doctor about your lipids.

Dr. Levi Ose has recently published, “Familial Hypercholestrolemia: An educational booklet for patients with familial hypercholesterolemia”. You will learn about Familial Hypercholesterolemia, its cause, and the potential consequences of this disease. You will learn about high cholesterol and what this might mean for your heart and blood vessels. Most importantly you will learn how to find out whether someone in your family has this disease and how you can reduce high cholesterol by adopting a healthy lifestyle and receiving treatment. This booklet can also serve as a starting point to help you discuss your disease and treatment with your doctor.
