Ingredients

  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup vinegar (cider or white works best)
  • 6 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup white sugar (omit this ingredient) ½ cup brown sugar
  • Salt (1/4 teaspoon) and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat
  • Then simmer for about 3 minutes until thickened. Allow to cool and serve with your favorite green salad or vegetables.
